Karin Lucia Gisler, founder of Primal Wisdom, is a qualified youth mentor with many years of experience leading circles and programs for young girls, teenagers, and parents.
Karin has completed her mentor training with the renowned Katharine Krueger, funder of Journey of Young Women (JOYW), who prepares women to lead programs for young girls in holistic coming of age education. She worked as a senior instructor for JOYW for over 5 years.
Karin holds a Diploma in Youth Work and is currently studying to become a Family Counsellor. She's a graduate of the School of Shamanic Womancraft, a year-long educational program for women, cultivating a deep personal and spiritual connection with the Earth and the Divine Feminine.
Karin is a wife and the mother of two beautiful children, 10 and 14 years old.
She was born and raised in Switzerland but has been a great world-traveler for the past 30 years. Her travels have stimulated her desire to learn about different cultures, customs and how people relate with each other. Eager to learn about different religious beliefs, hear wisdom of ancient traditions, she has sat in ceremony with people who are strongly rooted in their beliefs and traditions. Karin had the privilege to meet and live with very interesting people during this journey.
During the past 25 years, Karin has sat in many Women's Circles around the world and experienced the importance of being supported, held and heard by other women. After completing her Journey of Young Women (JOYW) training with Katharine Krueger, she became aware of how important it is for girls to experience this support as well. She feels called to share what she has learned with her community (and beyond), especially with the girls who are coming of age and with their parents. In her programs, she is weaving together what she has learned traveling around the world, the wisdom she has gained on her Four Season Journey with Jane Hardwicke Collings of the School of Shamanic Womancraft, the information she has received in her Journey of Young Women mentor training, and what she has learned as a Youth Worker.
Karin is also a Traditional Thai Massage practitioner and teacher, a qualified ABFE practitioner (Australian Bush Flower Essence), holds a diploma as a ‘Drogist’ (medical education in Switzerland on chemical and natural drugs) and has studied Marketing, Acupuncture, Reiki, Foot Reflexology, Yoga, Meditation as well as other healing modalities.
"Imagine the ripple effect of change young women can create in our communities if they have learned how to be daring, confident, empowered and most importantly be true to themselves!"
