Karin Lucia Gisler, the visionary behind Primal Wisdom, brings a wealth of expertise as a seasoned youth mentor and program facilitator. With a passion for empowering young people and parents, Karin has dedicated years to leading transformative circles and initiatives.
Karin’s journey began with dedicated mentor training under Katharine Krueger, founder of Journey of Young Women (JOYW), a program known for its holistic approach to guiding young people. She worked as a senior instructor at JOYW for over five years, deepening her skills in mentorship, leadership, and support.
Karin's credentials include a Diploma in Youth Work, and she is currently pursuing advanced studies in Family Counselling, further enriching her ability to support both youths and their parents.
Additionally, she is a graduate of the School of Shamanic Womancraft, where she immersed herself in a year-long exploration of Earth-centered spirituality and the Divine Feminine, fostering a profound connection to nature and holistic living.
Karin is a wife and as the mother of two beautiful children, 11 and 15 years old, she has a personal understanding of key life transitions and an intuitive approach to mentorship.
Karin was born and raised in Switzerland but has been a great world-traveler for the past 30 years. Her travels have stimulated her desire to learn about different cultures, customs and how people relate with each other. Eager to learn about different religious beliefs, hear wisdom of ancient traditions, she has sat in ceremony with people who are strongly rooted in their beliefs and traditions. Karin had the privilege to meet and live with very interesting people during this journey.
Over the past 25 years, Karin sat in many Women’s Circles around the world, finding strength in the support and connection among women. After completing her JOYW training, she realised the importance of offering this support to young girls, especially those coming of age.
In her programs, Karin blends what she’s learned on her travels, in her studies, and through her role as a Youth Worker. Her goal is to create spaces where girls feel seen, supported, and empowered.
Karin is also a Traditional Thai Massage practitioner and teacher, a qualified ABFE practitioner (Australian Bush Flower Essence), holds a diploma as a ‘Drogist’ (medical education in Switzerland on chemical and natural drugs) and has studied Marketing, Acupuncture, Reiki, Foot Reflexology, Yoga, Meditation as well as other healing modalities.
"Imagine the ripple effect of change young women can create in our communities if they have learned how to be daring, confident, empowered and most importantly be true to themselves!"
